Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Hon. W. Baldwin Spencer will on Wednesday present Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment Programme at the 6th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference at the Madinat Jumeriah Mina A’Salam Hotel here, which is being attended by hundreds of advisors, tax lawyers, immigration specialists, family offices and trust companies who advise wealthy families internationally on new developments in residence and citizenship planning.
During the conference, Prime Minister will introduce Antigua and Barbuda to prospective clients and their representatives and outline the benefits of investing in Antigua and Barbuda through the citizenship programme.
Prime Minister Spencer will highlight that his government’s adoption of a Citizenship by Investment Programme is based on its confidence that it will promote economic growth, bolster job creation and fuel entrepreneurship; attract developments which create ongoing and sustained tax revenues and other forms of income; ensure social development in areas of health care, education, sports, youth development, culture, environment management and care for senior citizens; generate significant capital injection annually into the national economy and support the development of infrastructure.
The country’s leader will outline the mechanisms by which an investor may apply for citizenship, exclusive of government and transaction fees; namely, the Real Estate Option which allows a client to purchase property in Antigua/Barbuda with a minimum value of US$400,000 in a designated resort zone; a contribution of a minimum of US$250,000 to a National Development Fund including a charitable contribution; or a business investment of at least US1.5M.
Prime Minister Spencer is accompanied to the Dubai conference by members of the Citizenship by Investment Task Force, which includes Attorney at Law Mr. Radford Hill, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Sandra Joseph and Head of the Office of National Drug Control and Money Laundering Policy Lieutenant Colonel Edward Croft.
The 6th Global Residence and Citizenship Conference in Dubai will also hear presentations on the Citizenship and Residence by Investment Programmes of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Austria, Switzerland and France.
